Karen Jean Schmidt Engelbrecht, a native of Chicago, IL and current resident of Mobile, AL, died Thursday, February 19, 2015. She is survived by her parents, Harry Henry Schmidt and Mildred Marie Condreva Schmidt; her daughter, Kate Engelbrecht, of Highland, IN; her sons, John Engelbrecht of Merrillville, IN and Jack Engelbrecht of Dyer, IN; her brother, John (Michele) Schmidt of Helene, AL; one grandson, John Engelbrecht; other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 20, 2015 at 2:00 PM from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
