Obituary

Kelley Patrick Douglas II, Beloved Father, Son, Brother and Friend

Kelley Patrick Douglas II, known to family and friends as "Patrick," age 51, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Patrick was born on April 10, 1975, at Providence Hospital in Mobile, Alabama. He is survived by his parents, Kelley Patrick Douglas and Karen Brown Douglas of Mobile, Alabama; his brother, Wayne Ronald Douglas of Stone Mountain, Georgia; and his wife, Lucille Frances Salter of Mobile. He is also survived by his sons, Samuel Elijah Douglas (Nichelle) of Hiram, Georgia, and Benjamin Royce Douglas (Kenna) of Tifton, Georgia; his daughter, Karen Elle Douglas of Mobile; his grandsons, Samuel Elijah Douglas, Jr and Saint Esaias Douglas; and his granddaughter, Ellie Mae Douglas. He is also remembered by his nieces, Hannah Lennon Douglas of Athens, Georgia, and Raylan Esme' Douglas of Decatur, Georgia; his stepsons, David Ethan Haigler (Kristen) and their son, Axel, and Zachary Adam Salter; and his beloved dog, Silas. Patrick will be deeply missed by his family, including his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Patrick had a generous heart and a natural gift for making others feel welcome. He was friendly to everyone and was always ready to lend a helping hand, especially to those who were less fortunate. Whether he was helping with repairs, offering encouragement, or simply taking time to listen, he made people feel valued. Anyone who knew him well considered him a lifelong friend. He worked in general construction, where his skill and willingness to help others were evident. Over the past two decades, Patrick built many friendships while living in the Tillmans Corner area of Mobile. He especially enjoyed repairing bicycles for people experiencing homelessness, and many residents loved him for his generous spirit.

Throughout Patrick's adulthood, he frequently battled with multiple health issues. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be directed to Mission of Hope, Wings of Life or Waterfront Rescue Mission. If you know of anyone in need, have them reach out to these organizations.

Patrick's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
