Lamar Lee Davidson, longtime resident of Saraland, AL, passed away at age 85 on May 14, 2025, at Saad's Hospice Retreat. He was born at home on February 24, 1940, in Lee County, AL.
Lamar attended Vigor HS before proudly serving in the US Navy aboard the USS Midway, visiting places such as San Francisco, Hawaii, Hong Kong and Japan. He later dedicated 27 years to the Chevron Oil Refinery in Pascagoula, retiring at age 57.
In retirement, Lamar enjoyed a rich and active life. He loved Nutty Buddy bars, the stock market, fishing, swimming and dominating at cards. Known for his quick wit and corny wordplay, he never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh. He was especially known for sharing his signature Martha Washington candy with friends and family.
Lamar found great joy dancing at local senior events, often attending up to 4 times a week and bragging about dancing 5 miles a night! Above all, he cherished his family and was a devoted and loving grandfather. He will be remembered for his humor, generosity, and the deep love he held for those closest to him.
The 10th of 13 children, Lamar is preceded in death by his devoted wife of 52 years, Patricia (McAdams) Davidson; his parents, Jeremiah Jerome & Clara Lillie Bell (Beaird) Davidson; and his siblings Lorene, Gussie, Nellie, Betty, Chester, Hazel, Serena, Robert, Sue, Murray, Jerry & Carl.
