In Memoriam: Larry "Ryan" Bolton (January 13, 1981 - December 4, 2023)
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Larry "Ryan" Bolton on December 4, 2023. Born on January 13, 1981, Ryan's life was a testament to strength, compassion, and dedication.
Ryan's formative years were marked by his passion for sports, particularly soccer and football at Ben C Rain High School and Murphy High School. However, it was in the boxing ring where he discovered his true calling. The small boxing gym on DIP became his sanctuary, where he honed his skills through spirited sparring, shadow boxing, and daily runs.
Beyond the ring, Ryan's heart extended to the Dream Center in Los Angeles, California, where he taught a self-defense boxing class for abused women. His guidance empowered others to find strength in adversity.
In San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge became Ryan's daily canvas. Running across its length symbolized not just physical exercise but a poetic expression of freedom and resilience.
Ryan also found joy in the culinary arts, working at various restaurants. Farming Hope, a culinary job training program for those overcoming obstacles, held a special place in his heart. Ryan's contributions aligned with his belief in second chances and community support. Ryan spent countless hours throughout his life volunteering to help others in need and fighting for equal treatment for all.
In the tapestry of Ryan's life, each thread was woven with empathy, strength, and a commitment to making a positive impact. As we bid farewell to a son, a friend, and a beacon of light, let us remember Ryan with gratitude for the mark he left on our hearts. May he find eternal peace, his spirit forever running free across the bridges of our memories.
Ryan is preceded in death by his grandmother, Dollie Bolton; uncle, Eddie Bolton; aunt and uncle, Sue and Dave Rounsaville; and uncle Dan Prim.
He is survived by his mother, Anna (Alvino) Bolton; sister, Jennifer (Andrew) Sorenson; niece, Alayna Sorenson; brothers, Danny and David Daugherty; aunt, Deb Bolton; aunt and uncle, Tim and Mary Hicks; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
