Laura Nell Rich Brannon, age 84, passed away on July 19, 2026, peacefully surrounded by family. She was born on March 4, 1942, in Columbus, Georgia, to George and Annie Rich. She graduated from Jordan High School and attended Columbus Community College. She worked at Prudential Insurance Company her entire professional career until her children were born, at which time she was promoted to a full-time mother and homemaker-a joy she cherished and excelled in. She was a longtime, faithful member of Springhill Baptist Church and, along with her daughter, taught and served for years in the children's department. She also volunteered at numerous hospitals where her husband was an administrator. She also volunteered at the Home of Grace. 

Laura and her husband, Wayne, were high school sweethearts and married in 1962. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Annie Rich, and her two sisters, Anne Thomas and Sue Clarke. 

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Brannon; her daughter, Kelley Brannon; her son, Bradley Brannon, and his wife, LeeAnne Brannon; and her grandchildren, Elijah Tate Brannon and Noah Reed Brannon.

The true joy in her life centered around her faith, family, and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made to the Springhill Baptist Foundation/ Missions. Light of the Village, or Waterfront Rescue Mission. The family is truly thankful to Aveanna Hospice of Mobile and Paula Stewart, R.N., for the loving care they provided over the last couple of years.
