Leslie Blanchard

Leslie D. Blanchard, age 79, died peacefully at a local hospital April 14, 2019. A long time Mobile resident and a graduate of Auburn University, he served in the Army National Guard and spent most of his career as a Foreign Audit Specialist for the State of Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie E. and Josephine Gonzalez Blanchard; his sister Shirley (Charlie) Hartley; and two brothers Douglas (Madeline) Blanchard and Bill (Connie Ray) Blanchard. He is survived by two daughters Julie (Matt) Avinger and Beth Blanchard; two sons Craig (ManLu) Blanchard and Leslie D. Blanchard, Jr.; two brothers, Leonard (Sandy) Blanchard and Wayne (Ann) Blanchard; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many cousins, nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
