Lillie Price passed peacefully from this life and into eternity on September 26th, 2026, at the age of 95, leaving behind a family shaped by her love, strength, and lifelong devotion to caring for others. Born on November 2, 1930, in Coffee Springs, Alabama, she went on to make her home in Mobile, where she built a beautiful life rooted in family, hard work, quiet strength, and a generous spirit that touched generations.

Lillie lived a long and full life defined not by what she had, but by what she gave. She was one of the hardest-working women her family knew, continuing to work until the age of 89 and maintaining the fierce independence that was so much a part of who she was.

Above all, Lillie was a caretaker. Her home was always open, and there was almost always something cooking. Family and friends will remember her chicken and dumplings, homemade biscuits, fried okra, fried chicken, dressing, lemon cheesecake, and the countless meals she lovingly prepared. She had a special way of remembering what everyone liked and making sure it was waiting for them when they arrived.

As the proud matriarch of five generations, her family was the center of her life. She was a devoted mother, recently sharing that her children were her greatest accomplishment in life. Her love extended well beyond bloodlines; once Lillie considered someone family, they remained family. She loved quietly and practically, through meals prepared, clothes sewn, doors opened, needs anticipated, and countless small acts of service that made the people around her feel cared for.

Lillie shared 64 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Jerry, before his passing twelve years ago. Together they built a life and a family that continued to bring her tremendous pride and joy. She missed him deeply in the years following his death while continuing to live with the same strength, independence, and devotion to her family that had always defined her.

Lillie found joy in simple things: family gathered together, Christmas, tending to her home and flowers, and knowing the people she loved were taken care of. She leaves behind not only a family spanning five generations, but an example of strength, hard work, generosity, and selfless love that will continue through them.

When asked just a few months before her passing what she hoped people would remember about her, Lillie's answer captured her life better than anyone else could:

"That I loved them all dearly."

And she did.

Lillie is survived by her daughters, Patrica Weathers (Mike) and Joan Pulliam (Bob); her grandchildren, Christopher Pettis (Kendall), Missy Newbill Martin (Scott), Brian Pettis (Kim), and Andrew Coln (Meredith); her great-grandchildren, Matthew Martin, Edrian Coffin (Morgan), Ethan Pettis, Ty Bunch, Kirstin Dickson (Justin), Cody Pettis, Lucas Martin, Livie Coln, Charlotte Coln, Bruce Coln, and Jack Coln; and her great-great-grandchildren, Cash Martin, Weston Martin, Anne Michael Dickson, and Anniston Kate Dickson. She is also survived by her beloved nephew, John Stone, with whom she shared a very special bond; many nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends who were fortunate to be loved by her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Price; her parents, Ida and John McCollough; and her siblings, Nettie Rue Stone, Deal McCollough, Joseph (Buster) McCollough, and QP McCollough.

A celebration of Lillie's life will be held at 2 PM, on September 30th, 2026, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. A graveside service at Mobile Memorial Gardens cemetery will follow immediately afterward. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 PM to 2 PM, on September 30th, 2026, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Lillie's care team at St. Joseph Hospice, whose kindness, care, and compassion brought her great comfort in her final days.
