Celebration of Her life
Loria M. Stringer went home to God on February 7, 2026. A native of Appleton/Brewton, Al
She was a resident of Chickasaw, Al for 79 years. (1947-2026)
Loria's home going was preceded by Calvin E. Stringer (Bud), Her husband of 53 years; Son Christopher E. Stringer (Chris); Parents John & R.Dillie(Blair) McGugan, two sisters Daisy lee (Lowe) Mcgugin and Stella Kate Janes. Five brothers Leon, Mason, Norman, Bruce and John McGugan. Loria was know as "sister" and "Loree" to her parents and siblings, and the last remaining member of her birth family.
Loria will be deeply missed by her daughter Joyce (Steve) Havard; grandsons C. Michael Stringer, David A. Stringer, Christopher E. Stringer Jr. Nine great grand children, two great great grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
While making a home for her family, Loria was employed at Brookley Airforce base in Mobile, Al in the 1950's. She worked in various departments of airplane flight readiness and radio communications. Loria retired from Brookley in 1965 and continued to pursue various personal interest through out her life.
A lady of many skills and talents, she was self taught in the art of sewing, with or without a pattern and with or without a sewing machine. You were always happy to be invited to join her at her table, but especially when he "chicken and dumplings", pecan pie", and "lemon pie" were on the menu.
A daughter, sister, wife, mother, grand mother, great grand mother, aunt and friend, Loria has always been strong in her faith in God and her personal convictions. Loria has been received in Heaven by her Heavenly Father , his son Lord Jesus, and her family and friends who have waited to welcome her home. Loria leaves us with her love and well wishes, until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 2pm. The family will receive friends from 1pm until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
