Magdalene Mae McClure

Magdalene "Mae" McClure, age 89, of Mobile, AL, passed away on May 2, 2026.

She was born on May 17, 1936 in Chicago, IL to Richard and Magdalene Dievenkorn. Her family moved south when she was young and she considered herself a proud Mobile native. Mae was also part of the first graduating class of Murphy High School.

Mae was known for her membership in the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, and the Social Order of Beauceant. She loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and dogs.

She is survived by her children, Richard McClure (Theresa) and Deborah McClure; grandchildren, Kenneth Hughes (Mary), Briana Rivera, Maria Gates (Chase) and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John McClure and daughter, Kathryn Hughes.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery: 6100 Three Notch Rd. Mobile, AL 36619.
