Margaret Sue Gibbs Swindle, born August 7, 1933, longtime resident of Mobile Alabama and current resident of Fairhope Alabama died Wednesday April 9 at the age of 91. Margaret was born in Conway Arkansas and spent her early years in Little Rock and Wright Arkansas. She graduated from Plum Bayou High School in Wright, Arkansas and attended Draughon Business School. She moved to Mobile Alabama and met her husband of 60 years Bobby Gene Swindle, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents James Leroy Gibbs and Carma Havens Gibbs, her sister June Gibbs Bost and brother Ferrill Louis Gibbs, brother-in-law John Algie Bost, sister-in-law Linnie Scruggs Gibbs and niece Carol Anne Gibbs Braswell. Her survivors include her sister Judith Gibbs Binager (Guy), children Jane Swindle Stromberg, Robert Eugene Swindle and Nancy Ann Swindle Sherrell; grandchildren Ainsley Stromberg Taylor (Nathan), Austin Grant Stromberg (Andrea) Brieanna Grace Stromberg , Shelby Swindle Wilson( Erik), Robert Eugene Swindle Jr, ( Madison), Paige P Swindle, John Gibbs Sherrell, Judson Gottlieb Sherrell, and Ann Haven Jane Sherrell; great grandchildren Lilly Carson Wilson, Ivy Scott Wilson, Nora Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Martin Taylor, Hartley Jane Stromberg, Asher Grant Stromberg and Lucy Arden Swindle. Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and focused much of her life on Christian ministries and bible teaching, including volunteering for Discovery Ministries and conducting bible studies for inmates at the jail. She felt strongly about encouraging others in their walk with Christ. She was proud of her grandchildren and was known to them as "Gma". They enjoyed her pound cake, lightning quick fly swatting, southern dialect and wry humor. You could always count on her to do a few things (in her own time); run a load of laundry, ask a lot of questions, and pray for you intently.
