In loving Memory Marlene Gray Cooper passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, September 5th, 2024. Born on November 20th, 1936 in Waynesboro, MS to Luke and Irma Mills. Marlene was a resident of Mobile, AL. She was a woman of strong faith who strived to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with her family and others. On July 12th, 1957 she married her beloved husband, Willard Cooper, and shared a life of 65 years filled with love. Marlene was the perfect southern hostess. You'd always walk into her home feeling the presence of the Lord, love from her sweet hugs and kisses, and never leaving with an empty stomach. She was the most honorable wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She took care of everyone she knew. Marlene was a loving mother to her two sons, Gary and Gene Cooper. Her love and life dedication to the Lord lead the way to salvation for the Cooper family. Her Godly legacy will be left and remembered for generations to come. Her light and beautiful presence will be forever missed by all who knew her. She was survived by her sons, Gary J. Cooper (and wife Tracy), and Gene N. Cooper (and wife Denise), as well as six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be at 11 am Thursday, September 12, 2024 with a service to follow at 12:00 noon in the chapel at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
