Martha Jewel Watkins

Martha Jewel Watkins, age 74, passed away on Thursday July 6, 2023, at her home in Mobile, AL with her husband by her side. 

A native of Union, MS, she was born on March 31, 1949, to Rudolph and Merle Dollar Watkins. At nine years old she moved with her family to Jackson, MS where she graduated from Provine High School Class of 1967. She was a 1972 graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy and spent her career as a Registered Pharmacist in Alabama, first in Citronelle, then in Mobile at Dart Drugs, Bruno's and CVS. 

Martha enjoyed fiction writing, reading, cooking, crocheting, knitting, and numerous other handicrafts. She will be remembered for her youthful, fun-loving personality. 

Martha was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Robert Prewitt; three brothers, Gene Watkins (Janis), David Watkins, Reuben Watkins (Judy); niece, Katrice Stearns (John); nephew, Cary Watkins, and a great nephew.
