Mary Lee Cox, age 81 went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, February 25, 2022 in Mobile, Alabama. She was surrounded by her loving family for the last few days of her life. Lee was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 27, 1940. She worked for the Department of Defense for 22 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Morda and Stacia Hedrick; her brother Harry Hedrick; and sister-in-laws Darlene Hertenstein and Annie Lou Hedrick.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 64 years, Kelvan D. "Gus" Cox of Mobile, Alabama; daughter Faline Nolan (Richard) of Amarillo, Texas; son Dylan Cox (Jima) of Tampa, Florida; and daughter Pamela Smith (Tim) of Mobile, Alabama. Lee is also survived by seven grandchildren; Ashley, James, Christopher (Sonya), Dalton (Jami), Natasha, Corey, and Allie (Colby) and six great-grandchildren; Cadence, Cohen, Scarlett, Bentley, Brody and Brooks. Other family members include her brother; Harold Hedrick of San Antonio, Texas; and Dr. and Mrs. Rex A. Cox of Louisville, Kentucky, along with many other relatives and friends. Mary Lee was a wonderful wife and mother best known for her loving and kind nature.
A memorial service to celebrate Lee's life will be held on Thursday, March 3rd from 5:30-7:00 pm. Location: Holy Cross Lutheran Church at 3900 Airport Blvd Mobile, Alabama 36608. The burial will take place later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
