Doreen Hawkins

Doreen Hawkins, age 61, passed away on July 22, 2024, in Dauphin Island, AL. 

Mrs. Hawkins was born on August 7, 1962, in Mobile, AL to parents, Russell and Loleta Rogers. She worked for Tameron Automotive Group for over 17 years. Described as an extremely hard worker, she only recently cut back her hours to begin enjoying some well-earned retirement. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and traveling with her family to Disney World. She was skilled at the art of treasure hunting along the shores of Dauphin Island for sand dollars, seashells and other trinkets. Her favorite time of year was Christmas and she loved more than anything to give to others and donate to worthy charities, some of her favorites being the SPCA and Animal Rescue Foundation. Friends and family remember her as a loving and fiercely loyal person. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, leader and she impacted many peoples lives. 

Mrs. Hawkins was preceded in death by her parents, Russell Leo Rogers and Mary Loleta Rogers; nephews, Chris and Chad Rogers.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 44 years, Steve Hawkins; daughter, Jessica (Robert) McManus IV; grandchildren, Robert E. McManus V, William Russell McManus and Stella Camille McManus; fur babies, Bentley and Josie; brothers, Wayne Rogers and Tony (Pam) Rogers; nephews/nieces, Scott Ken & Renee Rogers and Tony (Crystal) Rogers; other relatives and many friends. 

Services will be held at Cypress Shores Baptist Church on Saturday, July 27, 2024, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
