Mary Charlene Peacock Hinson died in her home surrounded by family and friends Monday, July 11, 2016. Mary, a longtime resident of Mobile, AL, was born July 18, 1943 in Houston, TX to James H. Peacock and Albonna Peacock. She graduated from Texas Christian University with a BA degree in English, and the University of South Alabama with a BS in Computer Science. She served on the staff of Mountain Bell Telephone; managed the Department of Research and Development at Automation Technology Inc.; served as Vice-President of Research and Development at Microtie Corporation and was a partner and co-founder of Alliance Systems, Inc. She loved gardening, painting and all animals, especially cats. She was preceded in death by her parents; her half-brother, Tommy Peacock; and her niece, Bonnie M. Peacock Fogle. Her survivors include her brother, James R. (Judy Clark) Peacock; her niece, Jennifer Leigh Peacock (Memo) Gutierrez; three great-nephews, Christian, Kyle and Logan; and close friend, Ken Wolchina. A visitation will be held Friday, July 22, 2016 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home beginning at 10:30 AM. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 Noon from the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in honor of Mary C. Hinson be made to: Mobile SPCA, 620 Ziegler Circle W., Mobile, AL 36608.
