Mary Elizabeth Ramsay Kirchoff, daughter of the late Lyman and Edna Ramsay, was born on July 17, 1941, in Mobile, AL. A lifelong resident of Ramsay Road in Grand Bay, Mary went to be with her heavenly family on October 28, 2025.
Mary was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Grand Bay, where she was active in the Ladies Sodality and the Golden Group. She graduated from Mobile County High School and continued her education at the Providence School of Nursing, where she earned her nursing degree.
As Mary began raising her family, she discovered her love for children and felt called to start a Montessori school, The Sunshine House. Once her children were grown, Mary's compassion for others led her to resume her nursing career, which she continued for the next ten years.
Mary, lovingly known as "Nana," will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was an angel on Earth - a woman whose faith, kindness, and servant's heart touched everyone she knew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Kirchoff; her daughter, Sue Kirchoff; and her twin brother, John Ramsay.
Mary's life will forever be cherished by those she leaves behind: her five children, Debbie (Mike) Augustine, Andy Kirchoff, Daryl Kirchoff, Janet (Patrick) Robinson, and Tessie (Dan) Bridges; thirteen grandchildren, Brittany (Derrick) Rogers, Amanda Stagner, Christina Kirchoff, Caitlyn Kirchoff, Joseph Kirchoff, Leighann Perry, Zachary Robinson, Hannah (Hailey) Schrader, Emory Robinson, Kennedy Bridges, Kathryn Bridges, Alison (Sean) Cisne, and Andrew (Bri) Augustine; and six great-grandchildren, Cooper Rogers, Palmer Rogers, Kane Augustine, Eli Augustine, Grant Cisne, and Gibson Cisne. She is also survived by her siblings, Woodie Ramsay and Margaret (Willie) Wright, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Services for Mary will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 12450 AL-188, Grand Bay, AL 36541. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass and graveside service at Grand Bay Cemetery.
Flowers may be sent to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Donations may also be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, P.O. Box 417, Grand Bay, AL 36541. Please reference: In honor of Mary Kirchoff.
