Mary Simmons-Rhodes

Mary Lee Rhodes, age 89, passed away in Mobile, AL on August 16, 2025. She was born in Purvis, MS on July 28, 1936, to parents Luther and Ella Smith. She will be deeply missed by all those who blessed to know her. Mrs. Rhodes was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Eugene "Gene" Rhodes; two sons, Bobby Wayne Simmons and James Allen Simmons; grandson, Buster McLendon; two sisters, Lillie Mae Helton and Johnnie Allred. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Marilyn (Clarke) Posey, Dorinda Crosby and Jared Lee (Kirsten) Rhodes; grandchildren, Shawn, Jason, Jennifer, Bobby, Justin, April, Nikki, Catrina, Felisha, Remington, and Colton; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Jacob and Brianna; great - great - grandchildren, Sadie and T.J. Siblings, Lois Gregory, Peggy (Barry) Simmons and Allen (Faye) Smith; friend, Danny Wilkerson and very special family friend and neighbor, Eddie Roebuck; other relatives and many friends. Services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. funeral service. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Biloxi National Cemetery.
