Mary Helen Polk Walker, a native of Cooks Springs, AL and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 in Elmore, AL at the age of 97. Mrs. Walker was a former member of Woodmont Baptist Church where she volunteered in the Children's Nursery for over 27 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; her husband, Humbert Walker; and her daughter, Sandra Walker Maxie. She is survived by her son, Larry F. (Janis) Walker of Loxley, AL; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 10:00 AM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening, May 22, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
