Maureen Rose Chiniche September 20, 1951 - October 03, 2025
Maureen Rose Asher Chiniche, a longtime resident of Mobile, AL, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2025, at the age of 74.
She is fondly remembered as a devoted wife, caring mother, loving grandmother, beloved sister, mentor, and a peaceful spirit of comfort to all friends.
“Reenie” attended Mississippi College for Women, where she met the love of her life, Wes Chiniche. They were married in June 1972. Their marriage spanned 45 years and included the blessing of children, grandchildren, and many trips to Mississippi State University and Walt Disney World (her happy place).
She was an active church/school volunteer with St. Dominic Catholic School’s PTA, CYO Basketball, McGill-Toolen High School’s Development Office.
She was also an artist at heart. She dabbled in paintings, needlepoint designs, and clay sculpture. She was also known for her kitchen creations, including five-layer lasagna and homemade pizza pies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton Edgar Asher and Jessica Allen Asher, and beloved husband Wesley Sylvester Chiniche.
Her survivors include: two sons, Andrew John and Daniel Joseph Chiniche; her daughter, Stephanie Leigh Morgan; two grandchildren, Alexander and Eric Morgan; Son-in-Law Thomas Morgan and Daughter-in-Law Jennifer Chiniche; her sister Bonnie Asher Frasier; and many other relatives and friends.
A Christian burial service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Mobile Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends at the chapel Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
