Mavis Chase

Mavis Virginia "Ginny" Chase, age 91, passed away in Mobile, AL on July 1, 2025. She was born and raised in Ruleville, MS to Stephen and Ollie Mae Wheeler. She had many fond memories of growing up there and spending time playing with family, especially her aunts and uncles. She had a great love for her dogs, arts and crafts and painting. She famously referred to herself as "Fat and Sassy" throughout her life and consistently lived up to the "Sassy" part! She, and all her "Sass", will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard L. Chase and children, Howard Wayne Chase, Leslie Stephens Chase, and James "Jimbo" Chase.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sandra Servantes, Rick Chase and Tammy Tahbo as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service will be held in Griffin Cemetery in Moss Point, MS on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.
