Michael Kenner Looper, known to all who loved him as Ken, a devoted father, proud grandfather, skilled pilot, and all-around one-of-a-kind man, passed away on January 6, 2026, at the age of 62.
Born on January 30, 1963, Ken lived life with purpose, passion, and just enough stubbornness to keep things interesting. He was a true pilot at heart-most at home in the sky, where he felt free, focused, and completely himself. Flying wasn't just something he did; it was part of who he was.
Ken was preceded in death by his beloved son, Glenn Looper; his parents, Lucy Cavender and Harold Looper; and his sisters, Kay Stevenson and Elaine Gartner. He carried their memories with him always and spoke of them often.
He is survived by his son, David Looper, and daughter-in-law, Melissa; his daughter, Michelle Looper; and his many beloved grandchildren, who meant the world to him. Ken took immense pride in his family and found joy in even the smallest moments spent together.
He also leaves behind his longtime best friend, Al Hammond, and his brother-in-law and dear friend, Mike Gartner, who shared in so many of life's adventures with him.
Ken's family, friends, and all who knew him will miss him deeply, carrying forward his lessons, his stories, and his love-along with plenty of good laughs and those unforgettable moments marked by, "That's just Ken for ya."
Clear skies, Ken. You're flying pain free now.
