Nicholas G. Rauch, age 63, native of New Orleans and resident of Daphne, Alabama, passed away on Thursday November 26, 2015. Nick retired in 2011 from Praxair, Inc. after 38 years of service. He was area plant manager at the Theodore plant for 20 years and at the time of his retirement was Operations Director for the South. After retirement he taught part-time at Remington College in Mobile. He served on the Board of Advisors with the Mobile Chamber of Commerce from 2008-2010. He was on the Board of Directors with Keep Mobile Beautiful for several years. He developed a program through Praxair "Rooting for Mobile" which donated thousands of trees to the community. Nick graduated from McGill Institute and is an alumni of the University of South Alabama. He is preceded in death by his father, Nicholas J. Rauch. He is survived by his mother, Therese Rauch, his wife of 40 years, Kathy, his children, Michael (Jamie) Rauch, Christine (Brian) Freeman, 3 grandsons, Luke, Ben and Carson, a brother, David (Nancy) Rauch, two sisters, Mary Earnest and Donna Marston, several loving nieces and nephews and their families. Nick enjoyed fishing, hiking in the Smokies and ballroom dancing. But his real enjoyment was spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband and father and a man of the highest integrity and purest morality. We are all better people for having known him. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 12:00 PM from the chapel of Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at 10:30 AM until the service time. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
