Odis Shepherd

Odis James Shepherd, a native of Bearden, AR and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Friday, May 5, 2017 at the age of 93. Odis was retired from Teledyne Continental Motors; an active member of Crossroads Baptist Church and a proud US Army Veteran who served in WW II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome Lee Shepherd and Nellie Fitzgerald Shepherd; his brother, Rodney L. Shepherd and an infant sister. His survivors include his wife of 69 years, Melba Don Miller Shepherd; his daughter, Devona (Dale) Willis; two sons, Dennis Lee (Lisa) Shepherd and James Russell "Russ" Shepherd; six grandchildren, Thomas James (Amy) Shepherd, Danny Shepherd, Angie Shepherd Howard, Adam Shepherd, Kelly (Troy) Donofro and Bradley (Dena) Willis; 9 great-grandchildren; many relatives and friends. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Aaron D. Smith, will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM from Crossroad Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday morning beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Pine Crest West Cemetery.
