Ollie Frances Oswalt Amos, a native of Oakman, AL and resident of Mobile, AL since the early 1950's, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2018, at the age of 84. Frances will be remembered as a devoted and faithful member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church. She found most joy in her family, many friends and neighbors and her involvement in Cottage Hill's 55+ Senior Church group. Frances also loved and worked with children for most of her adulthood, serving as a Kindergarten teacher for over 25 years. She is survived by her son, Ralph (Marcia) Amos; her four grandchildren, Libby (Todd) LaCour, Byron, Todd (Lauren), Gil and her great-grandchildren, Lila and Margaux LaCour. Frances was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Claude; her parents, Roscoe and Thelma Oswalt; 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Granny, as she was affectionately called, was a blessing to her entire family and many friends. She was a true example of good and will be sincerely missed. Visitation will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, November 16, 2018 beginning at 8:30 AM. A service to honor Frances will follow at 10:00 AM from the funeral home chapel.
