In Loving Memory of Orlan Donn King

August 12, 1941 - August 2, 2026

Orlan Donn King, a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, peacefully passed away on August 2, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on August 12, 1941, he was the beloved son of D.E. and Edna Earl King.

Orlan lived a life rooted in faith, community, and devotion. As a longtime member of Grace Pointe Church of Mobile, his warmth and steady presence touched many lives. He was a man who appreciated the simple pleasures of the world-whether he was tending to his garden, exploring nature while camping, traveling to new places, or spending time with his loyal dogs.

Above all, Orlan's greatest passion was his family. He loved his wife, Brenda King, fiercely and unconditionally, and his legacy of love will live on through the beautiful, blended family they built together.

Orlan was preceded in death by his parents, D.E. and Edna Earl King; his brother, Alvin King; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley King and K.P. Prescott.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda; his loving children, Donnie (Laura) King Jr., Michelle (Jerry) Werstler, John Wesley, Racheal King, and Bryan (Angie) King; and his brother, George (Mary) King. He also leaves behind his bonus children whom he held dear: Joanese (Lester) Cochran, Johnathan (Susan) Hite, Jason Hite, Jelna Hite Colman, and Jada (Jeff) King. Orlan's memory will also be treasured by his numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and a host of lifelong friends.

Services will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 12:00 PM, with a chapel service to follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Don King, John W. King, Byron King, Mike King, Lester Cochran, and Craig Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Grace Pointe Church of Mobile.
