Rev. Mcvay Sr.

Reverend William H. McVay Sr., of Citronelle, Alabama passed away on Friday. Reverend McVay Is survived by his wife of 56 years Molly McNeal McVay, 5 children and their families Pamela Jean McVay of Semmes, Alabama, Scott and Sheila McVay Jennings of Chunchula, Alabama, Angelia McVay of Citronelle, Alabama, Nicole McVay Eckert of Rockville, Maryland, and William H. McVay, Jr of Rockville, Maryland. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
From Jena, Louisiana born to Yancey Lacy McVay and Spivie L. Kennon McVay, August 27, 1936. He is predeceased by three of his siblings Dairus McVay 1948 Lacy McVay, 2013, Virginia Parmer 2014 , and is survived by two sisters Mike and Melba McVay Christie of Magnolia, Arkansas and Ernestine Pierce of Semmes, Alabama.
Reverend McVay was baptized in 1970 in Fairview, Alabama and began his life of serving the lord. He was ordained a minister in the Church of Jesus Christ by his FatherinLaw, William McNeal in 1971. He ministered across the South Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, and Florida, held tent revivals in multiple locations over the years and made huge contributions in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. He also preached on the radio in Lucedale, Mississippi WRBE for over 30 years.
Reverend McVay retired from Scott Paper Company now Kimberly Clark had several different positions in the 23 numbers of years he was there. Reverend McVay was also very proud of his service as Union President for Local 873. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 10 AM. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 to 7. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Pkwy., Mobile.
