Robert (Bob) David Chalker Jr was born on June 23, 1943. He passed away on October 12, 2021.
Bob is survived by his wife, Annie Platt Chalker; children, Chrissy (Tom) Babb, Clint (Teresa) Chalker, and Charie Martin; grandchildren, Dustin (Rachel) Chalker, Deric Martin, Jesi (C.J.) He is preceded in death by his Father, Robert D. Chalker Sr., Mother, Alethea I. Chalker and grandson, Clinton Allen Chalker.
Bob was born in Revenna, Ohio. He joined the Air Force in 1961. After basic training, he relocated to Mobile, Alabama, where he soon met the love of his life. Annie fell for his green eyes, red hair in his green fatigues in 1962. They were married at Brookley Air Force Chapel in 1963.
Bob was a jack of all trades. He was an electrician with the Alabama State Counsel of Machinist and served as their President, Vice President, and Secretary for 10 years. He also worked as an insurance adjuster, exterminator, robotics operator at several shipyards and a home remodeler.
Bob was a man who enjoyed many hobbies and was able to live life to the fullest through his many years. He loved going camping, traveling, as wells as taking long Sunday drives with the family. He was known by many for being a jester and had a dry sense of humor that his family and friends loved. Bob had many passions throughout his life, but it is safe to say his greatest passion and achievement was his family. Through their 58 years of marriage Bob and Ann created and surrounded themselves with a large beautiful family. He often spent time in his children's and grandchildren's youth watching them play ball at the park or participated in cheer and flag corp. Even in his later years Bob always made it a priority to spend time with and participate in the lives of the family he loved.
Bob will forever be missed by those who loved him just as much as he loved them.
