Ronald Boa Miller, Sr.
October 16, 1944 - October 30, 2026
Ronald Boa Miller, Sr., a native of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on October 30, 2026, at the age of 82.
Born on October 16, 1944, Ronald lived a life that spanned generations, leaving behind a family whose lives will forever be woven together by the memories, laughter, love, and legacy he leaves behind.
Ronald was a "piddler" at heart. He could often be found tinkering with car engines, working on one project or another. His love of automobiles extended beyond the garage, and for a time, he even owned a drag car. There was something about the challenge of figuring out how things worked and the simple pleasure of working with his hands that always appealed to him.
He also had a wonderful sense of humor and a seemingly endless supply of what his children would affectionately describe as corny dad jokes. If you knew Ronald, chances are you were on the receiving end of more than a few. Some earned a laugh, others an eye roll, but all were unmistakably his. Those familiar jokes, his quick wit, and the laughter he brought into ordinary moments will be among the memories his family treasures most.
The measure of a man's life is not found simply in the years he lived, but in the lives he touched, the family he raised, the laughter he shared, and the dreams that continue long after he is gone. While his earthly journey has come to an end, his story continues through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each carrying a piece of him into the generations to come.
Ronald was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Boa Miles; his father, Charles Dewey Miller, Sr.; and his nephew, Charles Dewey Miller, III.
He is survived by his three children, Ronald Boa Miller, Jr. (Terri), Rachel Miller McGriff, and Andrew Miller, who had the privilege of walking beside their father through the final chapter of his life.
He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Trey (Sarah), Bailiey Neely (Logan), Samuel McGriff, Claire McGriff, and Cate McGriff; and his great-grandchildren, Calieb, Noah, Hayden, Olivia, Lawrence, Alice, and Clara.
He is further survived by his brother, Dewey Miller; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Miller; his favorite niece, Lori Miller; and many other beloved nieces and nephews.
A Special Expression of Gratitude
There are moments in life when words seem painfully inadequate, and saying goodbye to a parent is certainly one of them.
Ronald's children wish to extend their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to their mother, Debbie; Buddy Noojin; Susan Minchew Morrow; Wes, Ashton, and the compassionate staff of Springhill Hospice; and Pastor Audie Tillman.
To our mother, Debbie, thank you for the countless meals you lovingly prepared and delivered, always making sure Dad had the comfort of his favorite foods. While we devoted ourselves to caring for him, you quietly devoted yourself to caring for us. Your thoughtfulness, generosity, and selflessness brought comfort during some of our most difficult days, and we will forever be grateful.
To Buddy, Susan, the staff of Springhill Hospice, and Pastor Audie Tillman, you are so much more than friends, caregivers, and spiritual support. You became our strength when ours was failing, our comfort when words could offer none, and the steady hands that helped carry us through days we never imagined having to face.
You showed up. You stood beside us. You gave of yourselves in ways that went far beyond what anyone could have asked or expected. You cared not only for our father, but for the hearts of the children who were struggling to let him go. There are acts of goodness in this world that can never be repaid, only remembered with a lifetime of gratitude.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday November 5, 2026 at 1:30pm.
Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Miller, Ron Miller Jr., Chris Miller, Tim Jones, Shawn Minchew, Blake Blanchard, and Brian Pettis.
A Final Farewell
As we say our final goodbye, we do so with heavy hearts, but also with gratitude for the years we were given, the memories we will forever cherish, and the privilege of calling him our dad.
We will miss his laughter, his familiar jokes, the stories he told, and the simple comfort of knowing he was there. And someday, when his family gathers on the land he once dreamed of calling a family farm, his presence will be felt in a particularly special way. His dream will have taken root, his legacy will continue to grow, and a little piece of him will always be there.
Among the things Ronald held dear, the most important was his relationship with Jesus. One of his favorite passage of scripture, Zephaniah 3:17, a beautiful reminder of God's unwavering love, His comforting presence, and the peace found in knowing we are never beyond His care.
"The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
- Zephaniah 3:17
As we reflect on these words that meant so much to our father, we find comfort in believing that the God who walked beside him throughout his earthly life has now welcomed him into eternal rest.
A father's life may end, but his place in the hearts of his children never will.
Rest peacefully, Dad. Your journey here is finished, but you will always be a part of ours.
