Ruby Salva

Ruby M. Salva, age 83, peacefully joined her Lord and her loved ones in Heaven on November 16, 2024. Ruby was born on November 2, 1941, in Mobile County, Alabama to Joseph and Flossie Miller. She was a graduate of Theodore High School's class of 1960. She devoted her life to caring for her family and children in her neighborhood. Her love for children prompted her to become a substitute teacher at several local schools. Ruby was also active in her Church and community. She created and headed the OutReach Program at her Church to meet needs in the community.

Ruby was preceded in death by her son, Gregory A. Salva, her husband, Don Salva, Sr., her parents, Joseph Miller and Flossie Miller, her brother, Vester Miller, and great-grandson, John L. Segler.

Ruby is survived by her son, Don Carlos Salva, Jr. (Gail); her grandchildren, Nicholas Salva, Cody Segler, Norris Segler (Beverly), Joshua Segler (Laura), Nicholas Segler (Laura), Kevan Salva (Theresa); 12 great-grandchildren, sister, Lois (Al) Ramsey, brother, George Miller, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

To honor the life of Ruby, a funeral service will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with father Dan Good presiding. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
