Russell Craig Young

Russell Craig Young, 60 of Mobile, Alabama passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, with his daughter and son lovingly by his side.

He proudly graduated from Mary G. Montgomery in 1985 and went on to serve 4 years in the United Stated Coast Guard. After his military service, he spent his working life in the construction field.

He was preceded in death by his parents Reginald C. Young and Carolyn R. Raines and his grandparents Collier Brown Starkey and Ruth Pattman Starkey, who held a special place in his heart.

He is survived by his former wife, Shari Schwab and his daughter Victoria Leger and her husband (Blake Leger) and his son Zachary Young, whom he was very proud of; 5 cherished grandchildren who were very close to his heart and brought him great joy and three brothers, Philip Young (Ginger), Steven Young and Mark Young (Kristi)

He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing but his greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends. He had many close friends and was known for his sense of humor and his ability to make others laugh.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Service details:

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday April 17, 2026, at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Friends and family visitation 2:30 to 3:30. A time of remembrance will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor him by attending and sharing your memories.
