Sandra Montgomery

August 8, 1971 — May 4, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sandra Warren Montgomery, who left this world on May 4, 2025, at the age of 53. Born on August 8, 1971, in Mobile, Alabama, Sandra brought a vibrant spirit and eclectic energy to everyone who crossed her path.

Sandra was the cherished daughter of Luong "Lu" Kawasaki and the late John Dea Warren Jr., as well as Paul Akira Kawasaki, who also preceded her in death. An accomplished graduate of Peter F. Alba High School, class of 1990, her accomplishments include service in multiple organizations. She was a proud member of her homecoming court, class officer, and the school dance team. Sandra continued her education at the Charles Academy of Beauty, where she honed her skills in cosmetology. As a licensed hairstylist with the Alabama Board of Cosmetology, she accrued a large and loyal clientele, many of whom became lifelong friends, a testament to her dedication and passion for her craft.

Throughout her life, Sandra exemplified strength and tenacity. She is survived by her beloved mother, Luong "Lu" Kawasaki, and her two cherished children, Emanuel Gage Ladnier (Kevin) and Michael (o.k.a. Abigail Elise) Montgomery. Sandra was a loving sister to Susie McDonald (Joe) and Linda Luong Warren, and a treasured aunt to her niece and nephews: Joe Joe, Josie, and twins Lulu & J.P. McDonald.

A woman of many interests, Sandra's passions included painting, reading, stained glass making, cooking, traveling, and exercise, particularly bodybuilding. She had a vivid imagination and was known for her great memory, candidness, and outspoken nature. Her vivacious spirit made her a beloved member of her community.

Sandra's legacy is one of love, passion, and creativity. She touched the lives of many with her steadfast character and infectious enthusiasm for life. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
