Sarah Pauline Smith Ezell, age 88, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on August 9, 2026. She was born on March 15, 1938, in Noxapater, Mississippi, to Obie and Clemmie Smith. Mrs. Ezell was a faithful and devoted member of Calvary United Pentecostal Church for more than 52 years, where she cherished worship, fellowship, and service to her church family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Aden Ezell, Jr.; her parents, Obie W. Smith and Clemmie R. Smith; and her siblings, Donald Smith, Kate Triplett, Mable Henderson, Nellie Haggard, and Joe W. Smith.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Cindy Ezell (Billy) Melton and Rhonda Ezell (Greg) Essary; her grandson, Bradley W. Essary; her granddaughters, Baleigh A. Essary and Sarah Madeline Melton; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and members of her church family.
Funeral services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, August 15, 2026. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by the service at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
