Shannon Feagin Garretson, a Valentine's baby, was born on February 14, 1976, at Mobile Infirmary Hospital in Mobile, Alabama. Shannon, affectionately known as "Shannie", lived in Theodore, Alabama until she moved to Grantville, Georgia. Shannon passed away at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, Georgia on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Shannon loved others with her whole heart and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Shannon enjoyed hanging out with her friends, online shopping, going to the beach, and watching reality shows. She worked at McDonalds, Walmart, a day care, a shipbuilding company and later went back to school to become an Esthetician. Later, Shannon became a full-time mother, devoting her time to take care of her son until his death in 2010. In 2012, Shannon had a major setback with her own health and received a liver transplant. She never fully regained her energy, but continued to fight and with her new liver, Shannon was blessed to have her "miracle baby" Mally.
Shannon is preceded in death by her son, Jacob Tyler Feagin; her dad, Michael Allen; grandparents, Charles and Stella Glatfelter, Jack and Mary King, Ernest and Kathleen Allen; and uncles, Beldon Glatfelter and Steve Glatfelter.
Those left to cherish her memory is her husband, James Garretson; her pride and joy, Mally Garretson; step-daughter, Jayde Garretson; her mama, Kay King; her daddy, Jack King; brother, Shane Allen; sister, Melissa Webb (Trae); half-siblings, Lura Allen, Mary Allen and Michael Allen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilton and Faye Garretson; loving nieces, Kristina Bielarski, Morgan Knight, Brittany King, and Kelsey Webb; and nephew, Quade Webb. She also leaves behind other nieces, nephew, sister and brothers-in-law, cousins, specifically Paige Glatfelter whom she was always close to; and her fur-babies, Harleigh and Remi.
A special thank you to Faye Garretson, Shannon's mother-in-law, for the care and love given to Shannon during her illness. Also, her sister Melissa and family, JoAnn Davis, Paige Glatfelter and school friends, Missy Bradley, Pam Boykin, Catisha Lore, April Boykin, Stacy Graham, Amy Heiter and Amanda Driskell for taking time to make the trip to Georgia to visit with Shannon to let her know that they loved and cared for her.
The family will receive friends from 10am until 12pm Funeral Service on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Rodger Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Mark Heiter, Trae Webb, Shane Allen, Quade Webb, Jeremy March, Rickey Carpenter and Jack King.
