With heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Thelma “Louise” McLendon, 85, a native of Shugualok, MS and long-time resident of Mobile, Alabama. She passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s on September 4, 2025, surrounded by family at Crowne Health Care.
Louise was preceded in death by her father, W. D Carroll, and her mother Thelma Bateman. She was also preceded in death by many other family members.
She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Albert Franklin McLendon Jr. She is also survived by her daughter, Kathy Chase (Bill) as well as her grandsons, Joshua and Cody Chase. Her extended surviving family includes her brother-in-law Huey McLendon as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Louise was an Office Manager at Prestige Photography for over 25 years and a homemaker for her family. She supported her husband as a Firefighter’s wife during his 30-year career with Mobile Fire Department. During her spare time, she enjoyed a visit to Biloxi and especially the IP Casino.
We will celebrate her life on September 13th, 2025, at 12 P.M.; at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery for a graveside service. Visitation will be held prior to the graveside service on September 13th, 2025, from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M.; at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. A Remembrance Luncheon will take place following the service at St. Vincent de Paul Parrish Hall at 12:30 P.M. on September 13th, 2025.
