Thomas Edwin Capps, Sr., a native of Birmingham, AL and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Saturday, August 6, 2016. Mr. Capps was a retired traffic controller for the US Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Leigh Capps, Sr. and Ida Mae Tucker Capps; his first wife, Betty Marie Capps, and all of his siblings. His survivors include his wife, Retha Mae Motes Capps; his children, James Leigh (Nancy) Capps, II, Thomas Edwin Capps, Jr. and Larry G. (Janell) Toland; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives; special neighbors and friends. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time. Graveside services and interment will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 at 3:00 PM in Oaklawn Park Cemetery, Sanford, FL. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
