Thurman Vickers

Thurman "Bubba" Vickers - age 89; a resident of Eight Mile, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2024. He was born on April 14, 1935 in Mobile County Alabama. He was the son of the late French Vickers and Bernice Taylor Vickers. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Joan Reynolds Vickers; two children, Vickie Elmore of Eight Mile, Alabama and Tracy and wife Ginger Vickers of Wilmer, Alabama. Grandchildren Jill Elmore, Emma Vickers, Trace Vickers, and Kimber Vickers; and one great granddaughter, Jamie Bashaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Bernadine Washam, and his grandson, Jamie Elmore.

Bubba worked for Scott Paper Company for 30 years and retired in 1989. He attended Myers Memorial Baptist Church of Eight Mile, Alabama.

The family will receive friends at 1 P.M. on Monday, May 20, 2024 followed by funeral services at 2 P.M. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Chapel, graveside service to follow. The services will be conducted by Pastor Ricky White. Pallbearers will be Tracy Vickers, Trace Vickers, Lee Reynolds, Ray Peavy, David Greene, Paul Centanni, Chip Elmore, and Gary Grimes.
