Tommy Joe Williams, age 83, resident of Mobile, AL, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026 with family by his side. Tommy was born January 24, 1943 in Jefferson County, AL. He was a loving husband for 62 years, father, grandaddy, great grandaddy and thoughtful friend to so many. Tommy enjoyed being with his family and friends and was an avid fisherman. He was kind and always looked for ways to help people. He was a machinist for 38 years, most of which was at Mobile Pulley and Machine Works in Mobile. He was also a member at First Baptist Tillman's Corner for 25 years. Tommy also enjoyed playing softball & horseshoes whenever he could.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Burney & Bettie Williams, his brothers, Leon Ward and Hubert Williams and his sister, Sue Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Nell Cooper Williams, his daughter, Annette Williams Robertson (Charles) and son, Ricky Joe Williams (Shelley Mixon). He had 7 grandchildren, Khari Williams Yeend, Alicia Robertson, Courtney Williams Brannan, Britt Robertson, Candice Williams, Cheryl Robertson Arabie and Kalyn Williams Stuart, and 10 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and too many friends to count. He is also survived by his sisters Joyce Williams Moore and Sandra Williams Plunkett.
The funeral service will be held Friday, August 21, 2026 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Mobile. Family visitation will be 12:30 - 1:00pm and Friends are welcome for visitation from 1:00 - 2:00pm. Funeral service will be at 2:00pm in the chapel. Burial will follow the service at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
