Tressie Bryant Yeager, a beloved matriarch and devoted servant of the Lord, peacefully departed from this world on June 18, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on April 10, 1936, in Mobile, Alabama, Tressie was the daughter of J.D. and Nellie Bryant. Her life was a testament to love, faith, and enduring family bonds.
Tressie shared a beautiful journey of love with her late husband, Thomas Gerald Yeager, Sr. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Renee Walvatne, Lynn (Mack) Amis, and Tommy (Jennifer) Yeager, who carry forward her values and spirit. Her love extended to her nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom was a source of immense joy and pride for her.
Known affectionately as "Granny," Tressie found her true calling as a homemaker. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and kindness, a place where everyone felt instantly at ease. Her servant's heart was evident in her unwavering devotion to her family and her deep faith in her Savior, Jesus. A true prayer warrior, Tressie's faith was her guiding light throughout her life.
Her commitment to nurturing young lives was reflected in her work as a nursery coordinator at Sage Avenue Baptist Church in her younger years. Tressie was a member at First Baptist Church of Dawes.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Ajene Hires, a dear caregiver who provided comfort and care to Tressie in her final months. Special thanks are also extended to Saad Hospice and Southern Cross Home Care for their compassionate support.
A celebration of Tressie's life will be held on June 24, 2026 with visitation from 11:00 AM till 12:00 noon and service beginning at 12:00 noon. It will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens, located at 6100 Three Notch Road, Mobile, Alabama 36526.
