Virginia "Ginny" Thomas Angle

Age 79

Ginny, as she was affectionately called passed away on Friday, September 13th. She was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, and graduated in 1963 from Murphy High School. She started her career working for Turner Supply Company, and later worked in the trust department of First National Bank, she retired from the MCPSS having worked as an accounting clerk in the Renovations department. She married her husband Perry in 1967. Her husband's career saw them living in Auburn, Alabama, Wilmington, Delaware, New Orleans, Louisiana and Dallas, Texas before coming back home to Mobile. She and Perry were active in the Shriners organization and she served as Queen of Naiad Temple 109.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Perry Angle, her parents Ralph and Thelma Thomas, and her brothers Mike and Skeeter. She is survived by her brothers Wesley (Carol) Thomas, James Thomas and Patrick Thomas. Her children Kim (Eric) Gray, Brian ( Kim) Angle, and Craig ( Sara) Angle. She loved being a grandmother and was known as "Nammy" to her nine grandchildren. She is survived by her grandchildren Ashley (Jacob) Clark, Zoie Angle, Alexander Angle, Anslee Gray, Claire Angle and Brooke Angle, and her two great-grandchildren Madelyn and Harlan Clark. She also leaves to cherish her memory her nieces and nephews.

Ginny loved to cook for her family. She was known for her divinity and fudge that she made during the holidays, her creole gumbo that she learned to cook while living in New Orleans, and her Sunday pot roast dinners. She enjoyed fishing and floundering with her husband and children. She was an avid Auburn fan and Saturdays in the fall saw her cheering for her favorite team. She enjoyed playing bunco and having lunch outings with her neighbors. The family would like to thank the staff at Carillon Oaks for the love and care they provided for Ginny. They would also like to thank the nursing and pastoral staff at The Retreat ( SADD's Hospice) for the tender , loving care they provided for her in the last week of her life. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests you make a donation to the Shriners Hospital or the Parkinson's Foundation to honor her memory
