Wanda Stringer

STRINGER
Wanda Janelle Cunningham Stringer, age 89, of Eight Mile, AL went peacefully to her heavenly home, Thursday, January 24, 2019, following a brief illness.
Wanda was born in Piave, MS to Thomas Leroy Cunningham and Ella (Williams) Cunningham on March 23, 1929. She was a graduate of Murphy High School and a Cosmetology graduate of State Vocational Technical School in Mobile, Alabama. Wanda was a lifelong resident of Eight Mile where she lived as a homemaker, a self-employed beautician and an Avon sales consultant. She was a member of the Eight Mile United Methodist Church and an active member of the local American Legion Auxiliary. She loved cooking and everyone loved her cooking. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Thomas Cunningham and Reginald Cunningham, and her husband, E. Blake Stringer. She is survived by one brother, Therrell Cunningham, of Semmes; one sister, Jean Brannan of Mobile; two sons, Edward Blake (Bubba) Stringer, Jr. (Diane) of Spanish Fort, Walter Stringer (Debbie) of American Fork, UT; two daughters, Ella Grace Young (Calvin) of Semmes, Shannon Harvey (Richard) of Bay Minette; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Saraland Baptist Church in Saraland, AL, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Saraland Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., with interment following at Mobile Memorial Gardens, Mobile, AL.
