William Kenneth Grisham Jr

August 15, 1947 — April 24, 2026

Dr. William K. Grisham Jr. of Mobile, AL passed away on April 24, 2026 after a courageous ten year battle with multiple myeloma. He was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN. Ken was a 1965 graduate of Lawrence County High School and played on Coach Leonard Staggs 1964 Clinic Bowl Team. He was a 1972 graduate of Auburn University's School of Veterinary Medicine, and a 1990 graduate of Samford University's Cumberland School of Law. He was a member of Creekwood Church of Christ in Mobile, AL.

He started his veterinary career as a theriogenology intern at Auburn's Large Animal Clinic before transitioning to the mixed animal clinic Crane Animal Hospital in Valdosta, GA. He then practiced at the (80% dairy cattle) mixed animal practice, Nashville Animal Hospital, in Nashville, IL. He finished his veterinary career as founder and partner with Dr. Dan Jennings at the mixed animal Lawrenceburg Animal Hospital.

He began his legal career as an associate with Crosby, Saad and Beebe in Mobile, AL in asbestos litigation representing Owens Corning. He worked as an associate with Dailey and Grisham in Birmingham, AL before co-founding The Grisham Law Firm with his brother, Jim. He finished his legal career working with Purvis, Gray and Murphy in Boulder, CO practicing in pharmaceutical litigation. He retired as President of KAG, LLC.

Ken's impact endures through the many families and people he helped and the dynamic faith he held. He cherished his church family and counted it a privilege to participate publicly in worship services. He was a passionate college football fan. Auburn and Clemson were his favorite teams. He was an avid reader of American History especially the Civil War era.

Ken loved the outdoors, whether working on his granddad's farm as a youth or the family farm raising beef master and commercial cattle. He enjoyed fishing with his brother-in-law Mark below Wheeler and Wilson dams. His joy was his family and he took great pride in watching his children and grandchildren striving for excellence in their academic and athletic endeavors.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Colonel William K. Grisham Sr., Rita Parkes Grisham and brother Andy Grisham.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Anna Bryant Grisham; two daughters, Becky Field of Searcy, AR and Jennifer Mitternight of Mobile, AL; four grandchildren, Emma Field, Jack Field, Kristen Mitternight Cooper (Christian) and Katie Mitternight; one great granddaughter, Parkes Dunlap and one great grandson (due in Sept) Shepherd Cooper; one brother, Jim Grisham (Connie) of Lawrenceburg, Tn; three sisters, Margaret Ford of Augusta, GA, Jane Carpenter (Mark) of Florence, AL and Rita Thompson of Cullman, AL; and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being made by Mobile Memorial Gardens, Three Notch Road, Mobile, AL and Neal Funeral Home 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, TN. Visitation will be conducted at Mobile Memorial Gardens on Tuesday April 28th from 5-7pm. Visitation will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg, TN on Friday May 1st from 9-11am. Interment will be conducted at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg with Dr. Tim Hammond officiating immediately following visitation.
