Obituary

Wren Allen Lum, 72, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026.

Born on January 9, 1954, in Rusk, Texas, Wren was the son of the late Mitchell and Dorothy Jane Lum. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Linda Burke. He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Elizabeth "Beth" Lum; his daughter, Lindsay Lum; his sister, Lana Draper; and countless extended family members and dear friends whose lives were richer because they knew him.

Wren lived life with an unmistakable joy that drew people to him. He never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel like an old friend. He was someone people naturally gravitated toward and was the life of the party without even trying to be.

As a professional golfer, Wren's love for the game shaped much of his life. Golf gave him incredible experiences, lifelong friendships, and no shortage of unforgettable stories. Whether every detail was exactly as remembered is beside the point! The story was always worth hearing and the people listening were always entertained.

In the days surrounding his passing, one truth became undeniable: Wren was deeply loved. Friends from every chapter of his life, even those he hadn't seen in decades, came to be with him and his family. Their presence spoke volumes about the kind of man he was. The friendships he built endured across years, distance, and time, a testament to the lasting impression he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

His legacy is found not only in the game he loved, but in the kindness he showed, the friendships he cultivated, the stories he shared, and the joy he brought into every room he entered. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to bring smiles to those who knew him.

Though he will be deeply missed, those who loved Wren know the best way to honor him is to share a memory, enjoy a round of golf, and never take life too seriously!
