Bonnie Smith

August 13, 1942 — February 19, 2020

Bonnie Faye Shoultz Smith, a lifelong resident of Mobile, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at her home. Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is honored to have been entrusted with the arrangements.

She was in the 1960 graduating class at Murphy High School. She was the 1958 Dauphin Island Rodeo Queen, and she competed in the Miss Azalea Trail 1959. Bonnie also was a participant in numerous fashion shows for Gayfers Department Store. She ended her career as pastoral care pastor at Life Church of Mobile.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Wayne Smith; children, Terri Faye Smith Norman and Kevin Wayne Smith, both of Mobile; four grandchildren, Michael Scott Smith of Mobile, Chase Smith of Redding, California, Tyler Grant Norman of North Carolina, and Kennedy Liles of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; and one brother, Larry W. Shoultz of Orlando, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Larkin Washington Shoultz and Alice Faye Pope Shoultz and sister, Jeanne Victoria Riggs of Charlotte, North Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the American Kidney Fund at www.kidneyfund.org.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 24, 2020, at 12:00 pm at Life Church of Mobile, with visitation from 10:00 am-12:00 pm at the church. Burial will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
