Cecilia Hamilton

Cecilia Poiroux Hamilton, 80, of Irvington, Alabama passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at Providence Hospital in Mobile. She was born December 30, 1940, to the late Clement and Myrtle Poiroux. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Gerald M. Hamilton.; youngest son of Dewayne "Peanut" Hamilton; two brothers Clement Poiroux and Robert "Buddy" Poiroux.

She was a homemaker that loved cooking, taking care and spending time with her family and friends. She loved traveling, listening to gospel and blue grass music and staying at her cabin on the river. Cecil loved going and doing things with her special friend, Ralph Sullivan, of Ellisville, Ms. Cecil loved her Lord and attended Magnolia Springs Baptist Church. She would do anything she could for people putting herself last.

She is survived by her two sons, Richard G. Hamilton and Kenneth J. Hamilton, both of Irvington, Alabama; One daughter-in-law, Laura Kenney Hamilton of Irvington; 10 Granchildren: Sherrel(David) Sanders of Sallisaw, Ok, Kevin (Amber) Hamilton, Kyle Hamilton, Kayla (Dustin) Carter, Cliff (Richard) Hamilton, Jeffrey Hamilton, Megan Hamilton, all of Mobile, AL. Blake (Tasha) Hamilton of Lufkin, Texas. Brittany (Cole) Pruitt of Washington St. and Brooke Hamilton of Grand Bay; 16 great grandchildren: 2 great great grandchildren;2 sisters Paulin (Larry) Thompson of Mobile, Shirley Ray of Irvington, 2 brothers Charles (Carol Faye) Pioroux of St. Elmo, Al and Gerald (Brenda) Pioroux of Grand Bay, Al.

Pallbearers include Kevin, Kyle, Cliff, Jeffrey, Justin Hamilton and Dustin Carter.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021, at 10:00 AM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Magnolia Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
