Emerie Elliott

March 5, 1935 — March 10, 2023

Emerie Miller Elliott, 88, a native of Mobile, Alabama, sadly passed away on March 10, 2023, after a brief illness. Emerie was a 1952 graduate of Theodore High School and proceeded to attend college. She became a Systems Analyst at Brookley Field prior to marriage to SFC William Kenneth Elliott in 1959. Emerie continued working at Quarry Heights, the nerve center of the US Southern Command when her husband was stationed in the Panama Canal Zone. While in Panama, Emerie and Kenneth began their family, having twin daughters, Debra Elliott Almeida (Oscar) and Delores Elliott Garrison. Pamela Elliott was born a year later. Upon her husband's military retirement, the couple made their home in Theodore. She worked part-time as a tax preparer, caregiver, and full-time homemaker. She never forgot anything and was proud of her mental acuity even in her later years.
Emerie was a descendent of two of the founders of Old Mobile. She was predeceased by her parents, Aubrey M. Miller, Sr. and Mildred Willard Miller, three brothers, Aubrey 'Sonny' Miller, Jr., Burt Miller, and Gaylord 'Red' Miller, and her only sister, Delores 'Bernice' Clements.
She had five grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as "Mimi:" Tracy Lynn Lewis Richards (Alex), Christopher David Waltman (Jessica), Charles Daniel Waltman, Alison Ann Almeida Brown (Kyle) and William David Almeida. Emerie had four great grandchildren: Georgia Kathleen Waltman, William Thomas Richards III, Arthur Samuel Dennis and Halle Lenora Brown.
Emerie enjoyed cooking, solving crossword and sudoku puzzles, and always prioritized family.
