James Hopkins

July 15, 1945 — October 30, 2021

Eddie Hopkins departed this earth on 10-30-2021. He is preceded in death by his father, Obie Hopkins, mother Mary Elizabeth Enlow Hopkins, and one brother Stanley Hal Hopkins.

He is survived by his wife, Olivia "Libby" Brownlee Hopkins, daughters Shari Hopkins Pierce (Harvey Jr.) and Denise Hopkins Carter (Tony), granddaughters Kaitlynne Buckner, Kelsey Lassiter, Kaeli Pierce; Danielle Hicks and Johnny Hicks, and 6 great grandchildren, two stepdaughters, Ashley Genaw, and Karen Sherman (Scott). Four step grandchildren, and one step great grandchild.

He is also survived by two sisters, Charlotte Stelzer, and Debra Hughes, and one brother, Wallace Hopkins.

Eddie gave 33 years of his life to International Paper Co, where he retired from in 2001. He served in the United States Army in the 60s and was a very proud veteran. He loved the Lord, his family, and his country (in that order - he would say to us). He loved hunting, and fishing, and Alabama football. But most of all, he loved his family and he lovingly called them his VIPs. (Very Important People). He will be missed terribly by his family and friends
