It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jim Whittington who passed away peacefully with family by his side at his home on June 18, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. Jim was 57 years old and a lifelong resident of Mobile Alabama.
A beloved husband and best friend of Rita Whittington. Loving father of Justin (Maureen) Schnadelbach, Josh Whittington, and Jonathan Schnadelbach.
Proud grandfather to Isabelle Schnadelbach and Eli Schnadelbach.,
Dear brother-in-law of Jean Kraft, Janice Poiroux, Clinton (Rhonda) Flynn, Walter (Velvet) Mendenhall.
He is survived by his father and mother, John S. and Yvonne Whittington, brother Van (Diane) Whittington, and sister Connie Langanbach.
Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather and an advent Auburn Fan who love to hunt and fish. The best hobby of all was his love of cooking. Every family member enjoyed the meals he prepared with such pride. He was also a great gardener, who we called “Mr. Green Jeans” because the vegetables he grew were outstanding and loved to share with his family. He was a very hard- working man through his life and loved his wife Rita and family dearly. He took extreme pride in his two grandchildren “Issy” and “Eli”. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him. Jim was a good man!
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 2pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation starts at 1pm. Burial will be at Serenity MemorialGgardens on Old Pascagoula Rd.
