Joyce Elizabeth Hobden AndressBorn: May 8, 1941 Died: November 29, 2020 Joyce Andress was preceded in death by; her husband, Alvin Eugene Andress; her mother, Lucille Knight Hobden; her father, Herman B. Hobden; her brothers, Ralph W. Hobden and Herman Ray Hobden; and her sisters, Hazel Marie Hobden, Patricia Ann Hobden Tubb and Helen Faye Hobden. She is survived by; her son Joe William Walther Jr. (Bonnie); Her Grandsons Joe William Walther III (Heather) and Jason Wesley Walther (Heather); her great-granddaughters; Audrey Grace Walther, Kaley Jo Walther, Harper Kinsley Walther, and Mia Beth Walther; her brothers, William E Hobden (Nora), Charles A. Hobden, Harrell L. Hobden, and Darrell L. Hobden; her sisters, Regina L. Eanes (Frank) and Sharon J Shaw (Robert); and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Joyce was the third child of 12. Born at home in Mobile, Alabama. The family moved to Hollingers Island when she was 5. She attended Hollingers Island Baptist Church where she was baptized at age 14. She attended Theodore High School from 1st grade through 12th until she Graduated in 1959. She then worked 42 years before retiring. She enjoyed being near the water in her younger years. She would go boat riding in Dog River, fishing in Deer River, and waterskiing in Fowl River. She loved sewing and doing needle work until rheumatoid arthritis affected her hands. She enjoyed planting flowers and trees in her yard and watching them grow and bloom. She loved going to dinner with her former class mates every month. She had great memories of growing up with her siblings and loved them so much. Joyce’s son was her gift from Heaven, she loved him with all her heart. Her grandsons gifted her with beautiful memories and she loved telling others about them. They will always be her babies. She loved her great-granddaughters and enjoyed playing with them and building memories with them. Her daughter-in- law was her right hand, was always there for her, and she loved her very much. In her eyes, her granddaughter-in-laws were just right for her grandsons. She loved them and felt like they were perfect. She loved her dog Pepper who was a great companion and was always with her. She loved him so much. Joyce wished to thank Dr. Thomas McGee and nurse Mary for taking such good care of her. The family would like to invite those who knew her to Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery ,6100 Three Notch Rd, Mobile, AL 36619 on Thursday, December 3rd, 2020. Visitation will be at 10am and funeral services will be at 12pm.
