Larry Branum

Larry Branum, age 72, of Mobile, Alabama, quietly passed away in his home on Friday, October 4, 2019, with his family at his side.

Larry joined the United States Air Force on January 20, 1965, and retired after 26 years of service. He served a tour in Vietnam from 1968-1969. After retiring, he became a truck driver until 2015. Larry was a lifelong member of VFW Post 4328 and a member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James L. Branum and Maebell Branum and his daughter, Cindy M. Branum.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Branum; two sons, James L. Branum (Sherry) and Jefferey M. Branum (Michelle); one brother, Frankie Branum (Ann); two granddaughters, Salina Branum Shelly (Stephen) and Josie Branum Swigert (Bobby); two grandsons, James and Mason Branum; four great-grandchildren, Samuel Shelly, Shaelynn Shelly, Sophia Shelly, and Slade Shelly; three sisters-in-law, Cecilia, Barbara, and Glenda; and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at 12:00 p.m. from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
