Myrna LuFern Nelson Arnett was born on May 4,1938, in Bon Secour, Alabama to the late Louis Christian Nelson and Mary Adline Pierce. She was called from this earthly life to her home in heaven on Thursday, July 23,2020, from her home in Daphne, Alabama, surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Eugene “Gene” Arnett, her parents, 3 brothers, Joseph Franklin, Sibley, and Roland Nelson, 3 sisters, Annie Higgins, Rose Mary Mallon, and Angelina Thompson and 2 grandsons, Michael Devlin, Jr. and Zechariah Strachan.

Left to cherish wonderful memories are 1 son, Christopher Arnett (Donna) of Daphne, AL, 2 daughters, Wanda Arnett of lrvington, AL and Jodi Martin (Michael) of Grand Bay, AL. She was known as "Maw" to grandchildren, Gene Devlin (Barbara) of lrvington, AL, M Sgt Blake Arnett, USAF, Christina Atkinson (Nick) of Creola, AL, Jonathan Arnett (Heather) of Daphne, AL, Carla Jay Casey (William) of Grand Bay, AL and Destiny L. Vaughan of Gulfport, MS. She is also survived by 6 step-grandchildren, Keith Nolin of Saraland, AL, Kristi Wright (Michael) of Knoxville, TN, Kasey Fort (Drew) of Grand Bay, AL, Kirsten Martin of Carthage, MS, James Martin of Gautier, MS, and Westley Martin of Georgia, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Donerine Nelson of lrvington, AL and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Also mourning her is her fur baby "Jackson" who was her faithful companion and protector for 14 years.

A special thanks to Comfort Care Hospice and all the wonderful nurses, especially Shan, Lisa, Jessica, Amy, and Heidi who were with her to the end.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening July 28, 2020, from 5-7 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Oddfellow Cemetery in Bayou La Batre, Alabama.
